RISE 2010 Summer Research Symposium

RiSE (Research in Science and Engineering) is an undergraduate summer research program that is run by Rutgers University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of N.J.,  to advance diversity in science, math, and engineering. Each year, about 20 minority undergraduate students in STEM fields nationwide are selected from a competitive pool and and invited to Rutgers to spend a summer involved in research, tutoring, enrichment and preparation for graduate study. The New Jersey Space Grant Consortium is a proud sponsor of the RiSE program. In summer 2010, NJSGC supported three students, Malashia Jones and Monroe Kennedy from U. Maryland, Baltimore County, and Christie Rodriguez from U. of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez. Above are pictures of our participants from the research symposium that was held on August 4, 2010.
