NJSGC Summer Interns Embark Work on Big Aviation Data Analysis at FAA Technical Center

Four NJSGC summer interns, who are Atlantic Cape Community College (ACCC) physics and engineering majors, will be working at the FAA Technical Center on big aviation data analysis. In tandem, students will take the ACCC course Physics Field Studies. The project will consist of the analysis of large flight and weather datasets. The overall goal is to increase air traffic security and make the practice of air traffic control more autonomous in nature. The students will discern patterns and build latent error prediction algorithms. The students will investigate the role that machine learning and AI may play in developing these algorithms. The students will present their work at the end of the summer.
